Steven just discovered that a few minutes ago. He's seen Jo, obviously, and he has even grabbed at her fur, but I don't think he really "saw" her until just now. I was dressing him on the couch, and he likes to stand so once we got partially dressed I stood him up. The cat was on the back of the couch, and that was the direction Steven was facing (I was going to let him look out the window.).
He looked at her and seemed surprised to see her. He reached out to touch her, and he got her paw, her face, her neck, etc. Fortunately Josie tolerated it even though you could tell she was cringing and looking at me like "I can't believe you're letting him do that!" After her behavior and destructive ways this week, he should be allowed to do anything he wants with her. (Yesterday Mark came in the bedroom after letting the dog out and told me that it might be time to put the cat down. Don't worry, he was joking, kind-of. She just was not a good cat that night!)
I wish I could have taken a picture of Steven's face when he was touching Josie. It was like he had an epiphany or something :) Unfortunately, I couldn't because I was holding him steady, and if I let go, he would have fallen down. Maybe when Mark gets home I can get a picture of him.

That is hilarious! :) I love when you can see children figuring out something for the first time - there is nothing like it!
That is so funny. Bekah is thrilled with our kitty but we don't let her touch her. You can see that she really wants to though.
