However, he has been having the hiccups A LOT the last two days, and he really doesn't like that. His poor little body just shakes with each one. I know that part of the problem is that he eats too fast some of the time. He uses stage 2 nipples, and he really should be using stage 1. His foster parents were feeding him with the faster nipple, so when I gave him his first bottle with the newborn nipples, he didn't like having to work so hard.
Any advice?
Just a cute little peanut!

Go to the stage one nipples. He's getting the hiccups, most likely, because the flow is too fast for his little diaphragm to handle. If that doesn't work...then...well... he is just hiccuppy? lol
Josiah had the hiccups quite a bit, but it didn't seem to bother him. I would stick with the stage 1 nipples as well. He'll adjust with time. Remember patience (and ear-plugs at times) is the key. It's great to see things going so well. Nikki and I would love to see if their is a weekend soon that we could come and see that new baby.
We had the same problem with Lilly and we took the stage 1 nipples and took a pin to make them just a bit bigger (but not as big as stage 2). She still uses them that way!
