The one day, he was playing in the living room with a gift bag that had a present for Michelle in it. Mark and I told him to take it to grandpa, who was in the kitchen loading the dishwasher. It was fun to watch Steven take off, saying "Gappa, Gappa" as he went. We heard him enter the kitchen, and then there was a little commotion, and then we hear Grandpa exclaim, "I don't know that that was such a good idea, Steven!" Let's just say that Steven thinks slamming the dishwasher shut is the greatest thing in the world even if the rack full of dishes is out. Grandpa got rid of him by sending him on a mission to give us the bag :) The whole time Mark and I were dying laughing in the other room as we heard all this going on.

A group shot with Grandpa and Michelle before heading home.
Michelle did great in Iowa as well. She played on her playmat, checked out everything going on while lounging on her boppy, and enjoyed being held as always. The nights were a bit hard since we didn't have room for her pack n play, so she ended up sleeping in a variety of places before we found that her car seat was our best option. Michelle got the chance to meet several family members while out in Iowa, and of course, she was a big hit.

Aunt Barbs came over one of the days we were there, and Steven immediately attached himself to her. It was quite surprising because he was really taking him time warming up to everyone, but he thought that she was great. It was fun to watch them interact as he brought her different toys and showed her the John Deere tractor that Grandpa Hal gave him a few weeks ago.

In the picture, Steven has his coat on even though we weren't leaving the house. He went through a phase of wanting to wear his coat all the time while we were there. We still have no idea what that was about, and I know that he was cooking, but he wouldn't let us take it off. Sounds like a 16 month old, doesn't it!
